Welcome to the historic General Stanton Inn
Located in the beach-side community of Charlestown, just 9 miles from the University of Rhode Island, The Inn rests on 6.7 acres and features 15 comfortable guest rooms, five dining rooms and a restaurant just named BEST in Rhode Island in 2023.
Room guests will enjoy a refined coastal living experience, blending colonial elegance with beach comfort. Each guest room features wi-fi, a restful bed with luxurious linens and sumptuous comforters. Each room has a clean, private, beautifully tiled bath with premium toiletries.
This first floor room is the one of the largest guest rooms in the General Stanton Inn, featuring a beautiful stone fireplace (decoration purposes only). Guests enjoy a king-sized bed fitted with luxurious linens and a sumptuous comforter. The room features a private bath with a beautifully-tiled shower and premium bath products. Wi-Fi enhance the guest experience.
*Due to the historic nature of the home, there are no TV's or refrigerators in the Colonial rooms.
While the Colonial Queen rooms are newly renovated they still maintain colonial charm. Each of these rooms have unique features different from one another, such as original wood beams in the ceiling of Room number 3, and a small fireplace in Room number 5. Guests delight in queen sized beds fitted with luxurious linens and a sumptuous comforter. The beautifully tiled shower features premium bath products. Wi-Fi enhances the guest experience.

These newly renovated air-conditioned Standard King rooms are located on the western side of the Inn, and feature keyless outdoor room access perfect for late arriving guests. Rooms are decorated in chic-beach style. Guests delight in king sized beds fitted with luxurious linens and a sumptuous comforter. The beautifully tiled bathroom features premium bath products. Television and Wi-Fi enhances the guest experience.
These newly renovated air-conditioned Standard Double rooms are located on the western side of the Inn, featuring keyless outdoor room access, perfect for late arriving guests. Rooms are decorated in chic-beach style with two full size beds fitted with luxurious linens and a sumptuous comforter. The beautifully tiled bathroom features premium bath products. Television and Wi-Fi enhances the guest experience.
This is the largest guest room in the General Stanton Inn, located on the second floor, and features a traditional fireplace. The staircase was built in 1740 so guests should be mindful as the stairs are steep and narrow. Guests enjoy a king-sized bed fitted with luxurious linens and a sumptuous comforter. Free Wi-Fi and air-conditioning make your stay more comfortable. The beautifully tiled private bathroom is over-sized and features premium bath products. This room is perfect for couples on their honeymoon or celebrating special occasions. Wi-Fi enhances the guest experience.

The Guest House has been renovated and will be available in June 2024. The house sleeps 4 people. It features a large queen bedroom, a kitchen/ family room with fold-out couch, smart TV, a full bathroom and additional outdoor dining space.
